Forcing treatment is “kindness to addicts”

Alberta this week announced it will introduce legislation – the Compassionate Intervention Act – that will allow people with severe drug addiction to be placed into involuntary treatment. “That’s a good name. What’s not compassionate is leaving those with addiction to fend for themselves. That’s just enabling their illness,” the Toronto Sun advocates.
