Wastewater samples reveal new psychoactive drugs

The University of Queensland-led team analyzed waste water samples for drugs in 47 cities in Europe, the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, China, Brazil and the Republic of Korea over 3 consecutive new year periods – 18 new psychoactive substances were detected. These included mephedrone, ethylone, eutylone and 3-methylmethcathinone.
