Economic impact of alcohol-related cancer deaths

Drinking alcohol increases the risk of at least 7 cancer types. Newcastle University Centre for Cancer and 5 European institutions tried to put a number on how big that cost was by calculating the amount of potential income or productivity lost due to deaths from cancers caused by drinking alcohol. They estimated a €5billion cost in Europe alone.
