MSP complains over ‘misleading’ claims on alcohol MUP

Dr Sandesh Gulhane, his party’s health spokesman, wrote to the UK Statistics Authority yesterday, accusing the Scottish Government of “grossly misleading” the public in its final report on minimum unit pricing for alcohol. He explained it “overstates” the impact of MUP: of the 40 studies cited by the report, only 8 mention health implications (7 inconclusive and 1 by a Public Health Scotland adviser).
