Labour urged to scrap £4billion Tory mega-jails plan and fund rehabilitation

Ministers should scrap Conservative plans to build new mega-jails and pour £4billion into the prevention of crime and rehabilitation instead, former chief inspector of prisons Nick Hardwick said. “The basic problem is that people are coming into the system faster than they are going out.”
