Katharine “Kitty” Dukakis, wife of former Massachusetts governor and 1988 Democratic presidential nominee Michael Dukakis and an advocate to destigmatize mental illness and addiction, died last Friday at the age of 88. Even during her husband’s presidential campaign, she was open about her addictions.
