The addiction care system under threat due to low institutional trust in the addiction/recovery space: credible threats to cut Medicaid funding, a federal freeze on grants estimated to fund 20-25% of all substance use disorder treatment in the US, SAMHSA staff have been cut, the Office of Recovery has half its staff terminated.
