Animal sedatives in Montreal’s drugs

Montreal Public Health warned of animal sedatives increasingly found in illicit drugs. Over the past few weeks, there have been recurring exposures to medetomidine and, less often, xylazine, in people who use drugs. Mixing these drugs with other depressants like opioids or benzodiazepines increases the risk of overdose.
