Teen opioid addictions often untreated

Fewer than 1 in 3 teenagers with opioid use disorder receive treatment, according to Arizona State University which looked at minors 2022-2023. In 2023, 557 teens died of opioid overdose, almost triple as in 2018, while adult opioid deaths rose ‘only’ 65% in that time. Overdoses are now among the leading causes of death for US teenagers.
