Adult Psychiatric Morbidity Survey

The Adult Psychiatric Morbidity Survey 2023/4 from the National Centre for Social Research found that hazardous drinking fell but the proportion of people reporting signs of drug dependence rose. Dependence on illicit drugs rose from 3.8% of 16-64 year olds in 2014 to 6.7% in 2023/4, mostly related to rises in signs of dependence on cannabis.
