Legislation to introduce minimum unit pricing for alcohol in Northern Ireland is “no longer deliverable” before the next assembly election, Stormont’s health minister said. Sinn Féin criticised the DUP for ignoring the scientific evidence in blocking MUP for alcohol, and the Ulster Unionist Party said the Executive’s failure to pass MUP would be measured in lives lost.
