What is new drug cychlorphine?

A newly emerging synthetic opioid known as N-Propionitrile Chlorphine, or cychlorphine, appeared in toxicology findings in 41 recent deaths, the Knox County Regional Forensic Center said. The deaths occurred from July 2025 to February 2026 across 11 counties – as 5 more fatalities remain under early review for the drug.
