California votes for cannabis cafes

Members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted 7-4 this week in the 1st step to allow Amsterdam-style cannabis cafes in the city. If the measure passes, pot shops would also be able to sell food and nonalcoholic drinks while offering live entertainment. Critics, however, called the move “outrageous”, pointing to the usual harms as well as staff exposed to 2nd-hand smoke.
