Scotland records 1,007 suspected drug deaths in 9 months

National Record of Scotland revealed the highest drug death rate in Europe, with 1,339 fatalities in 2020. Police Scotland lists 1,371 suspected drug deaths over the 12 months to September 2021, the 5th-highest 12-month period on record. There were 1,007 drug deaths in the 1st 9 months of 2021.
