Australia: alcohol deaths highest in 10 years

The latest deaths data published by the Australian Bureau of Statistics show that 1,559 people died of an alcohol-induced death in 2021 – the number does not include alcohol-related deaths. This equals a rate of 5.4 alcohol-induced deaths for every 100,000 people living in Australia, up from 5.1 in the previous 2 years.
