Child prescription-opioid overdoses in US EDs 2008-2020

The US saw a 22% fall in rates of prescription-opioid overdose related emergency department visits in children aged 17 and younger 2008-2019 – but an uptick in early Covid shutdowns. Nationwide Children’s Hospital et al added that Paediatric opioid overdoses remain high in many populations.
