Nicotine & Tobacco Research published Estimating Young Adult Uptake of Smoking by Area Across the UK – about 127,500 18-25 year-olds start smoking regularly each year. University College London et al released Trends in non-daily cigarette smoking in England, 2006-2024 and the Independent followed up with Rise in casual smokers less motivated to quit.
