Impact of ‘street’ benzos on drug deaths

King’s College London published Impact of ‘street’ benzodiazepines on drug-related deaths in England, Wales and Northern Ireland – about 14,837 deaths with BZD detections were identified, with polydrug use evident in 99.3% of cases. Notable is that 96.2% of BZD detections were via NHS prescription, with 61.9% illicitly sourced.
