Ireland: government must open 49 drug treatment beds left idle

Ireland’s Health Research Board showed that, in 2021, 86% of the 128 people who died while homeless had a history of substance misuse. The government pledged to build 100 beds in a new Dublin Simon Community Health and Addiction Treatment Facility, but has funded only 51 beds.
