FDA to recognize reduced alcohol use as a goal

The US Food and Drug Administration is to recognize a relevant reduction in alcohol consumed by alcohol-dependent people as a treatment goal in approval studies for new therapeutic approaches, idw reported. This follows earlier lines of the European Medicines Agency, with this as an intermediate (secondary) therapeutic goal.
