Impulsive traits, harmful alcohol use and personalized treatment

Ontario’s Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and University of Toronto identified Low-risk, Emotionally reactive and High-risk profiles. Emotionally reactive individuals scored higher on neuroticism, negative affectivity and psychopathology and lower on conscientiousness compared to the Low-risk group. The link between impulsivity and high-risk drinking is more nuanced than commonly understood.
