Vaping is growing new addicts

Across New Zealand communities, vapes aren’t just replacing cigarettes: a new generation of young people addicted to nicotine is being created and most have never smoked before. The highest vaping rates in Aotearoa are among 14-15-year-old Māori girls who start with vapes and quickly get hooked: this is addiction, not cessation.
