Prenatal opioid exposure: harms

Children exposed to opioids before birth could face increased difficulties with vision, attention, behaviour (including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and lower cognitive performance during their school years, according to the Universities of Glasgow and Dundee. The review also found emerging evidence of widening educational gaps over time.
