Predicting clients’ opioid deaths

King’s College London et al developed and validated the 1st prognostic models to estimate 6-month all-cause and drug-related mortality risk for people with opioid use disorder using indicators recorded at baseline assessment in addiction services in England. This helps identify opioid-using clients at the highest risk of death, to prioritise resources and perhaps motivate the patient.
