“Striking” rise in alcohol deaths

Alcohol-induced deaths in the US almost doubled: they rose 89% from 1999-2024, peaking in 2021. These alcohol deaths increased 255% among women aged 25-34 years and 188% among men aged 25-34 years, a new analysis by University of California et al showed.
